John Clevland. Rebecca Wigley, widow of Edward, late Gunner of the Triton but last of the Tyger, has asked to be paid his wages for when he was a Prisoner of War at Pondicherry. We find that the books show Edward Wigley was Gunner at the time the Triton was set on fire to prevent her falling into enemy hands and he is continued on her books to the day a Court Martial was held to enquire into her loss in January 1759. The books of the Tyger show he was Gunner of her from May to October 1759 when he was killed in action with the enemy. Opine as others have been paid wages when Prisoners of War, he can be paid by bill from January to May 1759 as the widow asks
