Description

John Clevland. Mr. Dawson, Attorney to William Pontey, with an order from the late Vice Admiral Harrison appointing him Boatswain of the Hussar, has applied for Mr. Pontey's wages. He appears to have acted as Boatswain from October to December 1758 and has passed a regular account but he cannot be paid by the rules of the Navy without Admiralty orders
