Description

John Clevland. Are sending an account of the expense of sending 570 men and Officers to Jamaica in transports, victualled at the charge of the Government. The Dawkins, Parnassus, Clarendon and Dispatch were proposed for transporting troops to Jamaica and were to be inspected. The Clarendon and Dispatch are not proper ships for the Service. Opine ships cannot properly stow the men in hammocks and ask for them to be fitted with cabins as other transports
