John Clevland. In February 1748 payment was ordered to be made to the proprietors for some Naval stores, found on the captured Dutch ship, the Temple of Solomon, and Mr. Grove, Agent to the captors should pay this money, which should be charged against the captors until it was paid. Have written to Mr. Grove but received no reply. The value of the stores was charged to Captain Hardy in the Jersey and Captain Crookshank of the Dartmouth. Mr. Grove is now in London and have asked him why he did not reply. He said he was away but Mr. Green at Port Mahon, who is joint agent with him, has the money in his hands and Mr. Grove will ask him to send it to the Treasurer of the Navy
