Description

Folios 29-30. Letter from J Gilchrist of St Aubyn Street, Plymouth Dock [Devonport], following his letters of 3 and 4 March, enthusing about the staffing and equipping of Le Caton which he had visited that day, and hoping that it could be made available for sick soldiers, if only for a short time. He also noted that the Marine Hospital at Stonehouse, also well equipped, had more than enough capacity to accommodate the sick of the 40th Regiment without risking the spread of their infection to other buildings of the hospital.
