This division contains records relating to the military operations of the armed forces mainly from the end of the Second World War onwards:

Combined Operations Headquarters, and Ministry of Defence, Combined Operations Headquarters later Amphibious Warfare Headquarters: Records mainly relating to the Second World War are in DEFE 2.

Korean War Operation Reports issued by General Headquarters, United Nations Command and Far East Command are in DEFE 12.

Falkland Islands Campaign Instruments of Surrender are in DEFE 14.

British Joint Services Mission (Washington): Private Office Papers are in DEFE 20.

Chiefs of Staff Liaison Section: Korean War Situation Reports are in DEFE 33.

Joint Amphibious Warfare Establishments and Trial Detachments: Reports are in DEFE 37.

HQ Army Strategic Command: Reports are in DEFE 42.

Evidence submitted to the Baha Mousa Inquiry is in DEFE 210.

Ministry of Defence: Permanent Joint Headquarters records are in DEFE 226.

Ministry of Defence: Directorate of Military Survey: Operation Corporate: Maps and Geographical Materials are in DEFE 244.

Series DEFE 38 has been made not used and the Investigation Papers into Alleged Involvement of SS Major General Wilhelm Mohnke into the Wormhoudt (France) Massacre are now within WO 309.

Series DEFE 39 has been made not used and the Waldheim Report and Associated Papers are now within DEFE 13 and DEFE 24.
