Harrington to Dunmore: the king has decided to bring over the six thousand Hessians and have them landed at Leith. Transports are ready and waiting for a favourable wind. Trevor has applied for permission for them to march through Holland. Maria Theresa has given orders for troops in British pay to be moved to Luxembourg; Dunmore is to investigate. He encloses a letter [ SP 87/18/244 ] for Prince Frederic [of Hesse]. If the French have invaded the Hessians should sail for Gravesend. Arrangements for embarkation. Dunmore may return to England once all the troops are embarked. Dated (OS) at Whitehall. PS. Crauford or another officer to be named will conduct the Hessians to Scotland. Dunmore is to inform Prince Frederic that the Hessians will be under Wade's command. Disposal of surplus forage. ff. 280-283
