Abraham Hume to Dunmore [Copy. Enclosure to Dunmore's letter to Fawkener of 6 December 1745]: unreasonable demands of d'Argenson on the hospital and straw [bedding], but he advises payment; there are a great number of French sailors in Britain, and the government can react in kind.
