Description

Folios 139-141. Letter from the Earl of Abingdon. He refers to reports from Charles Sawyer and Thomas Duffield. He is confident that the situation is quieter now. The ringleaders of earlier 'rescues' are known and will be caught. He also asks if a police officer might be spared (as Mr Duffield has aksed the same).

He encloses a letter from Charles Sawyer, Maidenhead, asking if the government would be willing to provide holsters and swords to his troop of Mounted Constabulary Corps
