Court of King's Bench: Plea Side: Indexes to Attorneys' Articles of Clerkship
Date

1838-1875

Description

Indexes chronologically by term and then alphabetically by clerk, to the articles of clerkship of attorneys admitted to the Court of King's Bench.

They may be used to trace affidavits of due execution of articles of clerkship in KB 107 for the period from 1840 to 1849, when they are arranged by date of admission instead of by date of execution. They are also useful for the period after 1849, in that an entry in these indexes will establish that no affidavit of due execution is likely to survive in KB 107. In such cases the details of the affidavit will be found only in the registers of affidavits of due execution in KB 170
