Description

Docket rolls recording the issue of variety of judicial writs, of which those of scire facias are most numerous. The others which appear most frequently are writs of prohibition, supersedeas, certiorari and elegit.

Each entry gives the name of the county or borough in question (usually 'Anglia' in the case of prohibition, certiorari or supersedeas), the type of writ, the names of the persons for whom and against whom it was issued, the return day at which it was to be returned into court, and the name of the attorney who secured its issue.
