Pages 147 to 154. Railway company: North Eastern Railway; report on an accident which occurred on 6 September 1855 leading to the death of William Haigh (in service of the Great Northern Railway Company) who came into contact with a bridge near Aycliffe while engaged in greasing the axle of one of the carriages of the train which was conveying The Queen to Scotland. Also included are a copy of the instructions to staff regarding the route of the Queen's journey, details of the composition of the train and a full timetable for each section of the journey.
