Folios 553-554. Letter from John Harrop, Clerk to the Guardians of the Manchester Union to the Poor Law Commissioners concerning a letter of 21 March containing a transcript of a resolution of the Board of Guardians of 19 March and relating to the appointments of Thomas Worthington and George Shenton Lowe. Further to Mr Lowe being found incompetent to the substitution of Richard Ashton who was found to be adequate and resolving that Richard Ashton be engaged as Clerk in the Workhouse office in place of George S Lowe, at 21s per week. Annotated approval of Mr Austin to continued employment of Worthington and Ashton.
