Folios 550-551. Letter from John Harrop, Clerk to the Guardians of the Manchester Union to the Poor Law Commissioners containing a transcript of a resolution of the Board of Guardians recommending the dismissal of Thomas Harding, porter at Swinton School, on one month's notice due to irregularity in the conduct of his wife. Further recommending that Thomas Booth, Clothing Store Keeper, be appointed Head Porter at a salary of £20 per annum, his wife continuing as Head Nurse in the infants' department at £10 per annum, with board and lodging. Annotated approval of Mr Austin.
