Royal Navy Court Martial, 9 July 1696.
Crime: Disposing of goods from the ship without the Captain's permission and using reproachful and threatening language to the Captain.
Verdict: Guilty.
Sentence: 5 lashes of his back at all HMS ships at Sheerness and the Nore.
