Folio 226. Draft letter from C N Dalton, Assistant Secretary to the Local Government Board, to John Kirkland, Clerk to the Southwell Rural District Council, stating that the Local Government Inspector, Mr H Stevens, has drawn attention to the fact that there is no hospital accommodation for cases of infectious diseases at the Southwell workhouse. They also draw attention to page 4 of the Medical Officer of Health's report for 1894 as to the need for isolation of infectious cases.
The Rural District Council is requested to take consideration of these comments and make some provision for general use of the district, and through some arrangement with the guardians for it to be also be available for paupers.
Enclosed is a memo on hospital provision for the guardians of the Rural District Council [not included].
