Folios 195-209. Letter from Charles Wills, Medical Officer of Health, Southwell Rural District Council. He encloses a printed copy of his report for 1894 for Southwell Rural District Council. It includes a list of all the names of councillors and the parish they represent. There are sections on: birth and death rates, actions to prevent the spread of diseases, diphtheria, typhoid fever, erysepelas, puerperal fever, inspections, night soil & scarifying, ventilation, drainage, and dead meat.
There are tables of: meteorological data for Southwell (monthly over the year), births, marriages and deaths by parish and district, and a 10 year summary of these statistics. He also lists deaths by disease and a 10 year summary, statistics on sanitary inspections.
He also adds that 2 fatal cases of diphtheria were registered in January 1895 at Upton and at Southwell, and a diphtheria case notified in Laxton.
Annotated to enquire what action to be taken by the Rural District Council with respect to sewerage at Southwell, Lowdham and Epperstone. Also, how does the question of building bye laws stand.
