Folio 181. Draft letter from C N Dalton, Assistant Secretary to the Local Government Board, to John Kirkland, Clerk to the Southwell Rural Sanitary Authority of the Southwell Union, referring to letter of 24 September 1894 regarding draining, scavenging and water supply of Lowdham. The Board ask what decision has been arrived at by the Rural Sanitary Authority at their meeting on the 19 October 1894. The medical officer of health has reported to the Board the closing of Lowdham school because of diphtheria. The Board wish to know if there is any further spread of the disease in the village.
