Folio 169. Letter from John Kirkland, Clerk to the Southwell Rural Sanitary Authority of the Southwell Union, to the Local Government Board, acknowledging receipt of letter of 20 August 1894 that enclosed a copy of the letter from Mr F W Adamson. At the Rural Sanitary Authority meeting on 24 August 1894 they stated that the soil at Epperstone is not suitable for irrigation of sewage, and that there is no legal Parochial Committee for the village.
Annotation: note that the Authority refuse to do anything and as they are at a transitional stage [between the Rural Sanitary Authority and Rural District Council] it may not be useful to take a complaint against them.
