Books which record rules (ie orders) made by the Court of King's Bench in particular cases upon a motion by counsel for the parties or, much less frequently, general rules to regulate court practice.
The entries are in chronological order under the dates of the days on which they were made, and so incidentally provide a record of the court's sitting days. They include many entries of orders to return to gaol prisoners who had been brought to the bar of the court, and they often include quite long lists of prisoners. The books were kept by the Clerk of the rules on the Plea Side of the court. The series is virtually complete between the opening and closing dates.
There are indexes from 1792 to 1802, in IND 1/7622-IND 1/7628 and IND 1/7536/1-IND 1/7537/16.

- Until the late nineteenth century there existed a number of series of rough draft rule books and rough memoranda covering rules of various sorts and beginning at various dates between 1739 and 1804. With the exception of drafts of consent rules in ejectment, which were considered worth preserving, they were all included in a destruction schedule of 1882 on the grounds that they were ephemeral documents and that all that they contained was entered in the rule books. (Statutes, Rules and Schedules governing the Disposal of Public Records, 1877-1913, pp 55-58). The consent rules in ejectment became KB 126 and KB 127 before being destroyed following the report of the Committee on Modern Legal Records in 1966; samples survive in J 89/21 and J 89/22
