Description

Indexes to the main series of Crown Side and King's Bench Division affidavits.

There are gaps in the series from 1755 to 1760 and 1922 to 1924. In their most developed form the volumes consist of a chronological list of affidavits in order of filing, giving the name of the party on whose behalf each was drawn up, the number of items involved, the name of the person or organisation filing it or them, and the date of filing; each volume includes an index to the entries it contains.

It is clear from examination of the affidavits that not all the affidavits are included in these indexes; the ones that are may only be the ones of which the clerks provided copies for a fee.
