Folio 133. Letter from G E Kirkland, Clerk to the Southwell Union, to the Local Government Board acknowledging receipt of letter of 29 April 1899 asking for observations of the guardians on the report of Mr Urmisin, Visiting Commissioner in Lunacy. The guardians believe that for the small number of persons classed as of unsound mind that the accommodation is sufficient. The guardians also think that the exercise they get is ample. The grounds are away from the town and spacious. They get pure, wholesome air, and see passers-by on the main road and the Midland Railway line, both of which run nearby.
