Mrs Piercy-Fox BA, FSA was an enthusiastic trained amateur archaeologist and local historian. In the 1950s she supervised the excavations at Holwood as well as the excavations of a Roman Villa and re-excavations of a Roman temple in Keston. She was also a founder member of the Keston Field Club and built up a considerable collection of maps, files, photographs, and other material relating to her archaeological and local history interests. After her death in 1966 a memorial fund was set up by her husband and the Keston Field Club to finance publication of archaeological research to be administered by Kent Archaeological Society. A collection of material was given to the Borough and divided between the Museum at Orpington and the Local Studies and Archive departments, Bromley Central Library.
