Walker Deeds:
Donor: Mr. Edwin Walker, who rescued them from being discarded as salvage, 1947-1948. They were the property of a firm still practising in Sheffield.
587 deeds and wills, mainly 19th century, which reached the Library in three instalments, and consist of:
Sheffield deeds: relating to West Bar and Pea Croft (Woodhouse family), mainly 18th century, 1674-1855 (55); miscellaneous 19th century (80). Dronfield deeds, 1702-1801 (13), and miscellaneous - Castleton, Eckington, Barnsley, Rotherham, Sherburn, Dykes Hall estate, and Ormside (Westmorland), 19th century (12).
Colliery leases: Handsworth, Waleswood, Silkstone, Deepcar (gannister beds), Thurgoland, Tapton, Greasbrough, 1844-1898 (11).
Sheffield partnership deeds, 19th century (50). Sheffield wills, etc., 19th century (350).
Handsworth Burial Board: mortgage of poor rates, 1858-1859 (2).
