MR. W. ACLAND MADGE, of Sunnyhurst, Kingsnympton, is to be congratulated on the distinction of having two sons who within a month of one another have won the Military Cross. Cecil Maurice went to France early in 1915, obtained his commission from the Scots Guards in October last year, and proceeded to France as an officer in the Machine Gun Corps in February this year, being awarded the M.C. in August. Morris Hubert joined the Middlesex in 1912, and proceeded with his battalion to India in 1914. He returned to England as a sergeant towards the end of 1917, obtained his commission in February this year, and went to France soon after, also with the Machine Gun Corps. He was awarded his M.C. in July. “You must be very proud to be the father of two such sons," writes Lieut.-Colonel Harrison to Mr. Acland Madge. Photo of both (Western Times - Friday 01 November 1918 p7);
