Salt duties

George MacDonald, master, and Charles Chivers, mariner, of the schooner 'Eleanor' of Plymouth, stated on oath that on 10/11 Oct. last they shipped at Liverpool 2,000 bushels of British salt to carry to Newlyn on account of William Colenso, fish curer, sailing from Liverpool on 13 Oct. On voyage ran into stormy weather, taking in water. 410 bushels of salt was lost: Collector of Excise to cancel bond.

Edward Goninan committed to bridewell for stealing two sacks of coals, property of John Trevenen: discharged ignoramus.
