Medical Board 17/12/1917 at Mil Hosp, Grantham on Capt JG Laing: 1) gsw right wrist - wasting of tissue 2) appendicitis 30/5/1917 - successful, but not fit for general service - gsw - struck by bullet 26/6/1916 serving with 105 Coy MGC in France. Entered inner side of right wrist and emerged at back of joint - bullet passed through - exit healing - acute infection of hand - splinters of bone removed. Wrist stiff - movement of fingers limited. Left unit 27/6/1916 and embarked for UK 14/8/1916 on "Dieppe"
Killed by a land mine laid by retiring Germans. - war diary 200 Bn (OC "D" Coy);

Other Notes: JAMES GORDON LAING Major 28th Bn., London Regt (Artists' Rifles) who died on Thursday 3 October 1918 . Age 33 .
