Certain items from this collection (-/1/1, -/2/1, & -/2/8-9) were passed to Stride & Son, auctioneers and valuers, of Chichester, West Sussex, by JLM Gulley, dealer in historical documents, of Upper Norwood, for auctioning in October 1998. The remaining items were bought directly from Gulley in November 1998.
Records of manor of Walkhamsted alias Godstone (1559)-1846, Estate records 1893-1899 and Clayton + Greenwell family papers (1785)-1916.
