Duplicate draft of paper on Cavendish's Mathematical Theory of Electricity

This is another rough draft of the "Preliminary Propositions" (HY/1/4): a continuation of Cavendish's paper "An attempt to explain Some of the Principle Phenomena of Electricity by Means of an Elastic Fluid" published in "Philosophical Transactions" 31 December 1771 Vol. 61 pp584-677. It is a draft of Cavendish's proposition in his published paper as far as Proposition XXVII. It is paginated 1-31 and covered Propositions 29-33. It is numbered 4 in pen, which is crossed out by a red pen which is used to write "no 2".

On the first page, there is a note in the same handwriting as WH (William Snow Harris) stating "this is a duplicate paper and calculation to throw some light on the nature of the missing papers in No [2 crossed out] 10. It is related to the Mathematical theory".There are pencil marks on the top of the first page "Fig 5 [illegible] an early [illegible]" and pencil words at the bottom of the first page reading "Ends Po 31 prop 24-33 referred to in No 9 Same as No 4".

The record is paginated 1-10 and consists of 6 larger and 1 smaller sheet.
