'Chart of the River Plate [Rio de la Plata]'. Survey shows coastline, hydrography, anchorages (HMS Brazen), topography, vegetation, settlements, land marks, remarks and explanatory key. Colour manuscript. Latitude and longitude indicated; north points with compass indicators showing true and magnetic north; no scale shown. By Edward Stanley Midshipman. Annotated with red ink: 'By Edwd [Edward] Stanely Mid'. Endorsed with black ink: 'Received with a letter from Sir Thos [Thomas] Hardy, dated Rio de Janeiro 17 Nov [November] 1823' and '22 January 1824' with monogram [illegible] and black stamp: 'Hydrographical Office'
