David Williams of St Clements, yeoman, and Pascoe Thomas of Truro, assayer; pleaded guilty to assault: fined 6d. each;. Their recognizances and those of their sureties, ordered to be estreated at last sessions, to be discharged.

Request by William Symons of Penzance to be released from his apprenticeship to John Tellam, late of Penzance, saddler, by indenture dated 6 June 1777, Tellam now being a prisoner in the sheriff's ward: request allowed.

David Richards of Marazion, gardener; acquitted of misdemeanour for want of prosecution.

Enumerated expenses and salary of Clerk of the Peace: to be paid by the Treasurer.

Consideration of matters relating to the new jail: contractor to provide sample barrack bed, to be viewed at next sessions;

moor-stone troughs to be made at usual price;

contractor having received £3,380 out of £5,165, the sum contracted for (apart from additional extra work), a further advance of £1,000 to be made;

since a further £1,000 will be required by next Ladyday, when the contract will be finished, the Vice-Treasurer to borrow a further £2,000;

Clerk of the Peace to advertise in Sherborne Mercury and Sherborne Journal that adjourned sessions will be held at White Hart, Bodmin, on 1 March next, to nominate head jailer and turnkeys, and consider other matters relating to the jail;

Mr Pennington being abroad, Mr Call, together with any other justice, empowered to give orders relating to the jail until next sessions.
