Draft copy letter of William White, Grand Secretary, Artillery Place to John Jones, Worshipful Master, Country Stewards' Lodge at 19 Basinghall Street, London seeking an explanation for the appointment of the Country Stewards as there was no Country Feast the previous year. White explains that he is unable to convene a meeting of the Board of Country Stewards as this is held under the jurisdiction of Sir Peter Parker, the Deputy Grand Master, who was unable to attend the Country Feast. White has not heard that Sir Peter Parker is able to attend and resume such meetings.

Country Steward's Lodge was granted a warrant by the Moderns' Grand Lodge on 25 July 1789 and met as No. 540 at the Guildhall Coffee House, Gresham Street, London. In 1790 the Lodge moved to the Freemasons' Tavern, Great Queen Street, London. The Lodge was renumbered as No. 449 in 1792. The Lodge made its last payment in 1799 and lapsed about 1802.
