Coventry Precision Ltd. (formerly Coventry Repetition Ltd.) was acquired by the Dowty Group in 1951. Coventry Precision was a sub-contractor. In its machine shops components for other Dowty companies were manufactured. The Dowty Group was particularly associated with the production of aircraft landing gear, but in the post-war period diversified into marine and mining engineering and other fields. Coventry Precision is still in business at Exhall near Coventry. It moved from Earlsdon in 1961.
