Letter of William Fleming, Secretary of the Lodge held in the Seventy-sixth Regiment, to Robert Leslie, Grand Secretary, stating they are pleased to hear of the flourishing state of the Antient Craft and commenting on the 'puny effects of the Moderns' who may continue at present but in the end will 'fall from all their imaginary Grandeur like a building constituted on a sandy foundation'. Also stating that they have been involved in the war between the East India Company and several of the Mahratta States and as a result the regiment has suffered many losses, including several very worthy brothers. Includes a list of Brothers that have been killed or injured, with date of death.
