Dock and Harbour Engines (3 items).
8 horse power crank engine, with 16 inch cylinder, 4 foot stroke, parallel motion.
Reverse general view of the engine, plan of the engine and boiler, longitudinal section of boiler (3 drawings on 1 sheet); reverse plan and sections of the framing, drawings of the cistern; plan showing location of engine, inner and outer rows of piles for the dam, shafts etc. All the drawings except the last item bear letter codes.
Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 436. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 148.
For the London Dock Co., Wapping. Pile engine. The engine was sold to Mr. Simons, rope maker, Commercial Road, near Limehouse, London in 1803.
