Immediate source of acquisition

The items in section 1, 5, 6, 14, 24, 25 and 43 together with Par/407/4/1-5 and 7/1-13 were deposited by the incumbent in the East Sussex Record Office in February 1972 (D 1456) and transferred to the West Sussex Record Office, March 1975.

The items in sections 4/6,7 and 7/14,15 were deposited by the incumbent, December 1985 and March 1986.

Par/407/2/1 is a photocopy made by the West Sussex Record Office, September 1975 and October 1984.

Par/407/30/1-3 were deposited by Mid Sussex District Council, April 1797.

The items in sections 44, 49, 51, 53 and 54 were deposited by the parish council, October 2002

Administrative / biographical background

The civil parish of Keymer was amalgamated with Clayton in April 2000 to form the new civil parish of Hassocks
