-
Bundle of 105 letters and papers, mostly from James Davies and James Crummer to James Watt, 1807-1808, and copy press letters from Watt to Crummer, and other papers relevant to the Welsh and Wyeside estates.
These were originally enclosed in a portfolio of cloth, card and marbled paper, labelled on the spine: 'Welsh 1807 - 08' and on the front, 'Welsh 1807 - 08'.
The papers were arranged in chronological order and this has been retained. They were not numbered. Most letters have a docket by James Watt giving the correspondent and date and sometimes a summary of the subject of the letter, which is given below. On some of the letters, James Watt jr. has expanded the information given by his father on the docket.
