14 horse power independent crank engine, with 22 inch cylinder, 3 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod.Partially shaded reverse side view of the engine, plan of the engine and boiler, cross-section of the engine and boiler houses, longitudinal section of the boiler. These drawings were made in the London office and sent to Soho.
Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 852. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 240.
For Charrington & Co. Brewery, Mile End Road, London. The firm had previously bought an 8 horse sun and planet engine [see Portfolio 5/148]. This engine was sold to Mr. Liddell of the Goat Brewery, Old Kent Road, London, in 1863.
