My grandfather was Major William Thomas Anderson, M.C., 91st Machine Gun Corps, afterwards 'C' Company 7 Bn MGC, service overseas France & Belgium March 1916-Nov 1917 then Italy Nov 1917-Feb 1919, mentioned in despatches Jan 1918, M.C June 1918. He returned to civilian life after the war, but at the start of WW2 he dusted off his uniform and joined the Home Guard.
W T Anderson was born in September 1897 - he looks very young in this picture which I think may have been taken before his transfer to the MGC which from his own notes was 21st Nov 1915 at Grantham.;
