Most of the property in Hollinshead Street, Chorley, and some other parcels, were accumulated by John Threlfall of Chorley, d. 1805, and Mary his first wife. One of their co-heirs was Joanna, wife of John Silvester, who inherited a moiety of the estate, and the other was the Reverend Charles Ethelston, whose son sold the other moiety to John Silvester in 1821.
