This collection comprises material created and accumulated by former members of Hydrographic Office staff and others which is not of an official nature, but is relevant to the activities within the Department or the wider field of hydrography. Notable omissions from this series are the Parry, Friendly and Beaufort Papers in the MLP series. A large number of unofficial hydrographic records can be found in the accession system which are waiting to be catalogued.
