Folio 388. Letter from T Howell K Roberts [Thomas Howell Kyffin Roberts], District Auditor for Norfolk to the Local Government Board. He refers to their letter of 7 February 1880 concerning sums of £13 9s 2d and £21 17s 2d he had certified as due from the late overseers of Foxley and Woodrising, in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, respectively at his audit to Lady Day 1879. He has been informed that [J N Maggs] from whom the sum of £21 17s 2d is due, is a bankrupt on whose estate no dividend has been or is ever likely to be paid. He has also been informed by the late overseers of Foxley that they have paid the sum of £13 9s 2d, to their successors. However, as this was after he issued the certificate, he has informed them that the amount must be paid immediately to the treasurer of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union otherwise he will institute proceedings for its recovery.
