Extract from War Diary (hardcopy) 86 Coy, Nov 1917: "2 guns under Lt Chivers and Sgt Murphy followed behind "X" Coy and came into action in L27b covering the advance of the infantry (R Fus) by firing on bcross-roads L22 a 6.6 and on parties of the enemywhich were seen moving along track in L22. Guns then moved forward and came into action in L17a from where they engaged the enemy in L 11 d. From thgis position, they moved forward and occupied defensive positions at L 11 d.4.2 one gun to cover the left of NOYELLES and one to cover the right flank of R Fus. On the afternoon of the 21st they assisted in breaking up the counter attack launched against our right flank. They also covered the advance of 87 Inf Bde by firing on Sunken Road in G 8 c"
