Material relating to the Boer War and the Great War.
Material related to the Boer War consists of Millicent Garrett Fawcett's personal copy of the report on the concentration camps in South Africa, by the Committee of Ladies appointed by the Secretary of State for War; containing reports on the camps in Natal, the Orange River colony, and the Transvaal. Included within the report are a series of photographs [presumably taken by Fawcett] and these have been catalogued separately under 7MGF/E/1/001-269. Also included within this material is a manuscript diary, in Fawcett's hand kept during the Concentration Camps Commission.
Material of the Great War consists of notes on a series of speeches given by Millicent Garrett Fawcett referred to the 'During War Speeches', a pamphlet with annotations by Fawcett published by the Ministry of Munitions and an archive box of press cuttings dating from 1914-1919 collected by Fawcett covering all aspects of the War both in Britain and overseas.
