Appeal of St Teath against order of 31 Oct. 1795 for the removal of Ann Sweet, wife of William Sweet, and children William (3½) and Elizabeth (1), from Tintagel to St Teath. Husband, William Sweet, with Joseph Kellow, Thomas Kellow, John Jenkin and John Bray, on 10 Nov. 1793 took work in the Delabole slate quarry in St Teath called Withy Bush, as common labourers for one year at 50 guineas. Quarry worked for ¾ year, and then given up. While working, W. S. resided in Tintagel, where he rented a house at 30s. p.a., and kept a cow at £3: order reversed, subject to opinion of King's Bench; Tintagel to pay St Teath costs.

Surveyor of Bridges (west) to put into good repair Trevemper, Rizow, and Tregudick Bridges and roads belonging thereto; also the roads belonging to Long Bridge, Tresillian and Keagon Bridge, and the river near Grampound Bridge.

John Giles, master of the boat Favourite, and Joseph Treweek of Sithney, labourer, took oath. J. G. swore that, on 17 Sep. 1795, they shipped, at Falmouth, 500 bushels of foreign salt to be carried to Porthleven in the port of Penzance, for use of the pilchard fishery, for John Blewett, fish-curer; in the course of the voyage, he met stormy and tempestuous weather, and was obliged to throw a part of the salt overboard to preserve the remainder, the boat and the crew; on arrival at Porthleven on 20 Sep, he, as agent for John Blewett, measured the salt remaining, and found 311 bushels; the loss of 189 bushels was not due to leakage or defect of the boat, or neglect by himself or the other mariner on board; this mariner was the only other person on board, and is now at sea and cannot be examined as a witness.

Regulations of a club or Friendly Society for tradesmen at Liskeard were exhibited and approved.

The bread consumed in the jails to only consist of 2/3 wheaten flour mixed with 1/3 grain or roots.
