Description (What the record is about)
-
This subgroup comprises the financial and accounting records chiefly of the firm of Nock and Joseland but also of its predecessor partnerships. It includes, under the double-entry system of book-keeping, core accounting records such as personal ledgers and nominal ledgers and books of prime entry including cash books.
All the elements of the business - rent agency, valuations, sales by auction - are reflected in the accounting records which record fees paid by clients, monies collected and disbursed on their behalf, in addition to the overheads of the firm such as staff salaries.
