Administrative / biographical background

The construction of St Mary's Church, Kilburn, began on 31 May 1856 with the laying of the foundation stone. The church was built by Messrs Holland of Duke Street, Bloomsbury, to the designs of Messrs Francis, architects. It was licensed to open for services on 7 April 1857, and was consecrated on 20 February 1862.
