From: Nicholas Stratford, Warden, and Fellows of the College To: Abraham Kenyon of Kirkemansholme, Clerk Messuage and tenement called 'Kenions' in Kirkmanshulme, heretofore in the occupation of Joseph Kenyon, father of Abraham. Consideration: A valuable sum of money. Term: 21 years. Rent: 21s per annum on the feasts of Christmas and the birth of St John the Baptist, in even portions, and one capon or hen at Christmas. Conditions: Repossession if rent late by 40 days. Lessee may extract marl, quick set, and take from the premises sufficient timber for maintenance, by licence from the Warden and Fellows. Lessee to maintain premises at own expence and not to alien without licence. The Warden and Fellows covenant to issue a new 21 year lease if requested within the first seven years of the term, upon the surrender of the present lease and the payment of one year's value of the premises. Signed: Abraham Kenyon. Seal missing. Witnesses on lip of lease: Thomas Neild and Francis Walkden.
