Housing

Some of the records listed in this section of the catalogue were created by the Property Services Group which was responsible for land acquisition and disposal, the management of rented housing, the maintenance of buildings and the management of agricultural land. Others are from the Physical and Engineering Planning Department whose responsibilities included urban renewal. Most records relating to the Research Unit have been listed in Section 5 of the catalogue and registers of property and housing waiting lists can be found in NTC 5/1. The Research Unit did however use housing records for its surveys and some of the general housing records have also been listed here.

An attempt has thus been made to group the housing records together regardless of originating department. Plans relating to housing developments will not however be found here. They can be located in the plan section of the catalogue for a particular project or the plan section of the Research Unit section (NTC 5/2/1-114)
