A certain number of documents were damaged by water on damp consequent upon the fire, but only those badly affected have been noted in the Calendar.

This Collection belongs to Sir Richard Christopher Brooke, Baronet

After the disastrous fire at Norton Priory the collection was kept at the Norton Estates Offices. It is now On Loan to the Cheshire County Council and is kept at the Cheshire Record Office, The Castle, Chester.
